Irish Latter-day Saint and Paralympian Gold Medallist nominated for RTE Sports Person of the Year.

In July 2017,Jason Smyth won double gold at the World Para Athletic Championships in London.  He has now won three sprint world championship doubles on the spin. You can also add to this his Paralympic Gold Medal success.

Jason, along with his family, attends church in Lisburn, County Antrim. He represents Ireland as an athlete and is also a great ambassador for the Church, often talking publicly about his faith.

Jason has now been nominated for the 2017 RTE Sports Personality of the year.  As RTE is the national public broadcasting service in Ireland, to be considered for this award is a great honour.

The results will be broadcast in a special live show on RTE1 on Saturday 16th December.
