Supporting Children and Youth: A Broadcast for Parents and Leaders

In a special broadcast held on June 6, 2021, members of the First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve Apostles and General Officers talked about opportunities to bless youth and children as areas come out of the pandemic. Youth quorum and class presidencies and parents and leaders of youth and children are invited to participate in this presentation.

The one-hour presentation, as well as segments for specific audiences, is available at http://ChildrenandYouth.ChurchofJesusChrist.org  and on Gospel Library. The presentation will include practical ideas for engaging in the Children and Youth programme as families and in wards. It can be used in families, ward and stake councils, stake youth leadership committees, ward youth councils, Aaronic Priesthood quorum and Young Women class presidency meetings, and other settings.

Elder Roy Tunnicliffe, Area Seventy who resides in the UK, and who has the responsibility of supporting the Children and Youth programme in Europe, addressed the importance of this special presentation. “The broadcast is designed to help re-energize participation in this new initiative for young people, particularly in areas where in person activities and meetings are resuming based on COVID-safe guidelines”. He added that “the resources will be targeted to specific audiences and local areas should use the content as directed by the Area Presidency in the coming weeks and months”.

The presentation is now available in English and American Sign Language and on June 18 it will be added in the following languages: Cantonese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish.
