Dublin and Limerick Sisters Organise Special 'Service Day'

Earlier this year, sisters from Dublin and Limerick in Ireland organised a special 'service day'. Also in attendance were Sister Reyna I Arburto of the General Relief Society Presidency and Sister Michelle Craig of the General Young Women Presidency.

As part of this event, the sisters were encouraged, among other things, to contribute needed items towards emergency assistance for Ukraine. There was an excellent response and deliveries have since been made to hotels housing refugees and other local groups.

One of these groups is WALK. Based in Walkinstown, Dublin, WALK is a voluntary organisation which aims to change and empower people with intellectual disabilities to live self-determined lives in an equal and inclusive society.  Earlier this year, WALK coordinated a trip to the Polish border, packing to capacity two large vans, to provide much needed aid for the people of Ukraine.  They are repeating the exercise, either in September or October, and hope to return to Ireland with more refugees seeking relief."
